Recent analyses suggest a potential upswing for Bitcoin, as key indicators begin to flash promising signals. A new evaluation of Bitcoin’s technical charts by crypto analyst Kevin reveals that the Bitcoin hash ribbons indicator, a technical model with an impressive track record, has flashed a buy signal. This tool, known for its 84% hit rate, historically indicates possible price increases following a period of correction. The hash ribbons, which forecast miner stress and recovery, have now flipped to a buy signal on the weekly timeframe.
Kevin explains that the hash ribbons are not just a simplistic buy/sell tool but rather provide a broad overview of Bitcoin network health. By observing short- and long-term moving averages of the network hash rate, this tool can predict shifts in market dynamics based on miner activity. When the 30-day moving average crosses above the 60-day moving average, the indicator suggests network recovery, marking these moments with a blue dot, indicative of buying opportunities.
The need for cautious optimism is however advised as recent history in 2025 showed two buy signals that failed to produce the anticipated returns. Kevin argues that the recent recovery attempt by miners and a 36% drawdown in Bitcoin’s price provide a new context that could potentially see the indicator’s predictive value hold once again. This optimism is echoed by a significant decline in sell pressure from long-term Bitcoin holders, who distributed an estimated $300 billion in BTC last year. The easing of sell pressure could now create a favorable backdrop for a renewed price rally in 2026.
As Bitcoin continues its volatile journey, analysts suggest keeping an eye on these indicators as they stabilize and turn upwards, possibly predicting a bullish market phase. However, investors are cautioned that while these signals are promising, timing the market correctly remains challenging, with the pattern possibly unfolding over weeks. At present, Bitcoin is valued at approximately $91,009, signaling a potentially interesting period ahead for traders and investors.
