Earlier this week, Vivek Ramaswamy, a pro-crypto US presidential candidate, announced the suspension of his campaign. This announcement was made known through a post on a social media platform where Ramaswamy expressed his intent to support the bid of former President Donald Trump to return to the Oval office.
Ramaswamy had gained notable recognition in the crypto community during his campaign due to his pro-crypto stand. Central to his plan was a comprehensive crypto policy framework aimed at reshaping the country's regulatory landscape. This involved the termination of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) regulation by enforcement strategy and guaranteeing developers' code as a form of expression under the First Amendment's protection.
This announcement makes Ramaswamy the second pro-crypto candidate to suspend a campaign for office after the Mayor of Miami, Francis Suarez, who also suspended his presidential campaign last year.
