Although hackers made significant strides in 2023, the year saw a decrease in the losses by cryptocurrency users compared to the previous year. According to estimates, users lost around $2 billion in 2023 through various hacks, scams, and exploits, reports suggest.

These figures indicate a decline from the recorded losses of $4.2 billion seen in 2022. The year 2022 also marked the collapse of crypto giants including Terra, Celsius, and FTX, which contributed to $40 billion lost.
