Ethereum Co-founder Vitalik Buterin Clarifies Recent ETH Transactions

By: Isha Das

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has recently addressed allegations regarding his massive Ethereum coin 'sales'. He clarified that he hasn't sold his Ethereum for personal gain since 2018. Recent wallet activities linked to him have sparked interest within the crypto community, leading to speculations about him dumping his holdings.

In a post on Warpcast, Buterin explained that the reported transactions were not sales, but donations to charities, non-profits, and other projects. Observations of his cryptocurrency activities as well as recent high-value ETH transactions have been met with skepticism by the crypto community.

One of the charities closely associated with Buterin, Kanro, focused on researching global solutions for pandemics, has also confirmed a large transaction of $15 million worth of USDC stablecoin to Gemini Exchange. Despite these transactions, Buterin remains a significant holder of Ethereum, with nearly 250,000 Ether units worth approximately $390 million to his name.
