GAM3 Awards 2024: Exciting Reveals and Expansions in Web3 Gaming

The GAM3 Awards 2024 is set to be the pinnacle event of the web3 gaming industry. Scheduled for November 22 in Manila, this year's awards ceremony promises not only to build on the successes of its previous iterations but also to break new ground. Co-hosted with the Yield Guild Games (YGG) Play Summit, the event is significant as it highlights the Philippines' central role in the web3 gaming landscape. Speaking on the importance of the location, YGG Co-Founder Gabby Dizon emphasized the vibrant and passionate community of gamers in Manila, who will cast their votes and celebrate their favorite games.
The 2024 ceremony, in partnership with industry-leading blockchain companies such as Arbitrum, Magic Eden, Immutable, Avalanche, and Skale, is anticipated to be the most lavish yet. For the first time, the event will feature a physical ceremony, an exciting prospect for both online and offline attendees. Historically, the GAM3 Awards have been a cornerstone for innovation recognition in blockchain gaming, with categories ranging across numerous disciplines including art direction and emerging games.
This year's awards will showcase 21 categories, with two new additions – Best Ecosystem and Best Browser Game. Renowned for its broad spectrum of awards, the event doesn't merely focus on high-fidelity graphics. The rebranded 'Best Art Direction' category, for example, celebrates originality in visual storytelling. The event's commitment to pushing the envelope also extends to its voting process, which continues to engage the community actively. Notably, the People's Choice and Best Content Creator awards are based entirely on community votes, underlining the event's dedication to audience involvement.
The anticipation is further heightened by exclusive previews and trailers of upcoming web3 games, alongside participation from over 70 prominent figures in traditional and blockchain gaming. Companies such as Amazon, Google, Samsung, and Animoca Brands, among others, will be in attendance, promising valuable insights and major announcements. Furthermore, the prize pool has swelled to an impressive $5 million, supported by partners like AWS and Thirdweb, reflecting the GAM3 Awards’ commitment to fostering the future of web3 gaming.
The diverse shortlist of nominees includes seventeen blockchain networks, showcasing the expanding web3 gaming ecosystem, with notable mention of Immutable, Polygon, and Solana among the top contenders. The shortlist also features epic titles vying for Game of the Year, including 'Off The Grid,' 'Parallel,' and 'Nyan Heroes.' All these elements collectively paint a picture of an event that not only honors innovation and creativity in web3 gaming but also sets the stage for its future advancements.
