Metaplanet, a leading corporate Bitcoin treasury in Japan, has taken a significant step towards bolstering its Bitcoin holdings this week. In a recent acquisition, the company has purchased an additional 1,111 BTC, bringing its total Bitcoin reserves to an impressive 11,111. This strategic move places Metaplanet within a mere 398 BTC of surpassing Tesla’s current holdings, which stand at 11,509 BTC.
According to a regulatory filing made on Monday, Metaplanet invested approximately 17.26 billion Japanese yen, roughly $117 million, at an average price of just under $105,500 per Bitcoin.
