Polygon 2.0 Introduces New POL Token Contracts on Ethereum Mainnet

Polygon has launched new POL token contracts on the Ethereum Mainnet. The roll out is part of the network's 'Polygon 2.0' update, marking a significant stride in their evolution. The POL token will now power all blockchains running on the Polygon network.

Under the updated roadmap, Polygon has introduced the POL token which will replace the previous MATIC token, taking a central role in coordinating operations across the ecosystem. This indicates a strategic move that aims to cement the network's position in the blockchain space.
