The blockchain-backed messaging service, Telegram, has refuted an alleged security vulnerability within its desktop application as presented by the blockchain security firm, CertiK. This comes after accusations that the said vulnerability could potentially expose users to harmful attacks.
CertiK asserted that the possible loophole was a substantial Remote Code Execution (RCE) vulnerability contained within the media processing of Telegram's Desktop application. They claimed it made users susceptible to attacks via specially concocted media files.
However, Telegram responded swiftly, stating that the alleged videos circulating were potentially misleading, as there were no vulnerabilities present within its platform. It further encouraged its users to report any potential vulnerabilities via its bug bounty program.
On another note, the SushiSwap community has voiced their dissatisfaction with a vote to centralize its $53M treasury. Former contributor B.Naïm expressed concern and lack of surprise about the decision, stating that the leadership team had been working towards this moment for several months.
