This parallel processing can potentially scale Ethereum to handle millions of TPS, significantly enhancing its performance and reducing costs.
Moreover, sharding is expected to work synergistically with other Ethereum upgrades, like Rollups in Layer 2 solutions, to optimize the blockchain's capabilities further. This approach not only promises a path towards greater decentralization but also ensures the network remains secure against malicious attacks by distributing the data load efficiently across multiple nodes.
As Ethereum advances toward these scalability solutions, it becomes increasingly independent from Bitcoin, as observed by a decrease in their correlation. These technological advancements could secure Ethereum's role as a cornerstone of the decentralized finance and digital asset space.
