The U.S. government has announced a series of strong measures against the notorious LockBit ransomware group, which includes banning a number of Bitcoin and Ether addresses linked to the group from the financial system. The action comes in the wake of the group's disbandment on Monday this week.
In a decisive move to counter cybercrime, U.S. agencies have levied sanctions against two Russian individuals and a total of 10 Bitcoin and Ethereum wallets, alleged to be involved in LockBit's illicit activities. More importantly, authorities have stated that victims of the ransomware attack can get assistance with recovery.
