US Presidential Candidate Kennedy Jr. Proposes Putting US Budget on Blockchain for Round-the-Clock Inspection

US Presidential hopeful, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has promoted the idea of integrating the entire US budget with blockchain technology. This initiative, as per Kennedy, would empower US citizens to inspect their country's budget at any time, thereby enforcing transparency and accountability. He made this perspective known during a recent rally held in Michigan.

Kennedy takes a strong stand in favor of crypto, advocating permissive policies in his independent campaign platform. His crypto-friendly stances have been evident in his campaign, with him accepting Bitcoin donations since May 2023.

Among his other ambitious proposals, he has suggested the partial backing of the US dollar and its debt obligations with Bitcoin, as well as championing exemption of Bitcoin from capital gains taxes. However, his proposals' viability remains a contentious topic amongst experts.

Islamabad has been critical of existing policies too, including the proposed 30% crypto mining tax from the Biden administration. Additionally, he voiced concerns over the Federal Government's FedNow payment system, suggesting it could lead to a prohibition on Bitcoin.
