The Web3-enabled decentralized storage system, Hello.app, has recently managed to secure €300,000 in pre-seed investment. This platform was brought to light by young visionaries Álvaro Pintado Santaularia and Alexander Baikalov.
Designed as a robust solution for Web3 users, the storage system is intended to challenge the dominion of traditional Web2 storage solutions such as Dropbox. The key feature that sets it apart is granting users complete control over their data and information in a decentralized environment, thus alleviating the issues linked with central points of control and ownership.
To propel its cause and entice new users, Hello.app is offering 100GB of free storage. The founders have also strategically purchased the hello.app domain, intending to foster widespread adoption. It is notable to mention that the domain name represents one of Spain's most expensive web domains ever purchased, amounting to approximately $120,000.
Expectations are that this novel approach towards storage solutions will revamp and redefine the Web3 and storage industry with a renewed focus on user autonomy and privacy.
