Worldcoin Steps up Mainstream Integration with Shopify, Minecraft, and Reddit

By: Eliza Bennet

The blockchain-based project Worldcoin, spearheaded by Sam Altman, has launched significant integration with several leading online platforms such as Minecraft, Reddit, Telegram, Shopify, and Mercado Libre. The integration aims to extend the reach of Worldcoin's primary technology, World ID, which has previously seen successful integration with platforms like Discord, Talent Protocol, and Okta's Auth0.

This technological development promises to simplify the process for developers in creating new integrations. Notably, Reddit moderators can tap on the World ID for user verification, while Shopify store owners can use it for fraud prevention. The authentication process for World ID is divided into three levels – casual, standard and high – each offering different degrees of security and verification, with options for anonymity.

While Worldcoin has experienced notable growth with nearly 5 million people globally creating a World ID, the project also faced some obstacles, including a ban in Kenya due to concerns regarding data security. Regardless, Worldcoin continues its growth trajectory, focusing on improving its platform and its international reach, particularly Asia.
