XRP ETFs Flip From Inflows to Outflows: Institutional Interest in Ripple Persists

XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are witnessing a shift from inflows to net outflows for the first time since their debut in late 2025. Data from SoSoValue indicates that four XRP funds experienced $28 million in net redemptions this month, corroborated by CoinShares showing $130 million in net outflows for XRP-linked global funds in March. Despite this reversal, after a launch fueled inflows reaching $1.2 billion in four months, the broader institutional interest in XRP remains strong.
Goldman Sachs, in an SEC filing, disclosed $152 million exposure across four spot XRP ETFs, showcasing significant traditional-finance backing for the token. Furthermore, a survey by Coinbase and EY-Parthenon highlighted institutional investor interest, with 18% currently allocated to XRP and 25% planning to add it in 2026. In essence, regulatory clarity and advanced trading capabilities are the main drivers for increased digital asset allocations, indicating a sophisticated institutional landscape supporting Ripple's offerings.
Ripple continues to expand its role beyond payments, even while experiencing an outflow in listed products. By acquiring GTreasury, Ripple enhances its position in corporate finance, while Ripple Prime offers comprehensive digital assets services, including brokerage and clearing. XRP's value continues to be coupled with the broader ecosystem's success. XRPL's growth—such as its significant tokenization efforts and compliance-friendly solutions—further cements institutional interest.
Despite the ETF slowdown, Ripple's pursuit remains strong, underpinning XRP in a more robust institutional setup. Ripple's adoption of AI-driven security improved the XRP Ledger's robustness by spotting new vulnerabilities, showcasing ongoing innovations. With regulatory compliance in mind, Ripple's thriving expansion across global markets continues to bolster XRP's institutional value, reassuring stakeholders of its strategic resilience.
